Body of missing Cache Creek fire chief Clayton Cassidy located

— Ashcroft Cache Creek Journal — Ashcroft RCMP confirmed on Sunday, May 28 that the body of missing Cache Creek fire chief Clayton Cassidy was located late on the evening of Saturday, May 27. “We’re happy in one way, sad in another,” said one of Clayton’s brothers, Patrick Cassidy, following the news. Kamloops Search and Rescue helps out injured mountain biker

Injured elderly woman rescued from trail south of Kamloops

— From InfoNews – KAMLOOPS – Search and rescue crews carried an injured woman on a stretcher along icy trails for more than a kilometre from the wooded area of McConnell Lake south of Kamloops yesterday. The woman, in her 70s, was taken to hospital after crews safely transported her from the area where she fell to the waiting ambulance, according to Alan Hobler with Kamloops Search and Rescue. Police confirm one person dead after truck enters Thompson River south of Ashcroft

— From The Ashcroft Cache Creek Journal – ASHCROFT —The body of a lone female, the single occupant of a pick-up truck that entered the Thompson River 15 kilometres south of Ashcroft on the afternoon of Saturday, April 15, was recovered by members of the RCMP dive team on April 16. The swiftwater rescue team of Kamloops Search and Rescue (KSAR) was deployed to the site in the early afternoon of April 15, after receiving a report of a vehicle in the water. One dead, one missing following ice fishing tragedy

— From CFJCToday.com – KAMLOOPS — One man has been confirmed dead, and one man is still missing following a ice-fishing excursion that went terribly wrong. "We used the infrared. They did identify some locations where there was holes in the ice, as well as some hot spots that were up on the lake shore. We sent searchers and our flat ice rescue team to some of those locations," said Hobler.
