Kamloops Search and Rescue does on occasion request the use of helicopters to assist with performing our tasks, particularly if a task is time sensitive or includes danger involving swiftwater, hypothermia, or avalanche risk.
All KSAR members are expected to be certified in helicopter operations as well as hover entry/exit procedures. This training is provided jointly by KSAR in partnership with a qualifying helicopter operator on a yearly basis.
